Ever read "The Space Merchants" by Kornbluth and Pohl? One of the scenes
is an advertising agency meeting where one of the ad men describes how
they are about to bounce back from the set back they sufferred when the
"safety sissies" got a ban on projecting ads on the windows of air cars.
They found a way to project ads directly into eyeballs.-)
If I remember correctly Pohl was making more from his advertising work
than from editing or writing at the time. He probably had first hand
insight into the mind of advertising execs when he penned that satirical
look at how far advertising execs might want to take things.
